¡Ay, Dios mío, "lujoso"! ¡Es que la palabra me da un poco de repelús, como cuando te ponen mantequilla salada sin avisar! Pero sí, a ver… Denbies, con ese nombre tan british, ya te predispone. Y la verdad, *sí*. Pero con un "pero" enorme, como mi apetito después de un buen vino.
Vale la pena. Aunque… no te esperes el lujo de un palacio veneciano, ¿eh? Es un lujo "de la campiña inglesa". Más como el jersey de cachemir que te regaló tu abuela: cómodo, bonito, pero con ese puntito de "ay, ¿cómo lo lavo?" (Y hablando de abuelas, ¡hay algunas por allí! Encantadoras, eso sí, pero... aviso).

Sí, hay mucha comida "british": el desayuno inglés completo (¡prepara el colesterol!), el roast beef los domingos… Pero también hay opciones más… internacionales. A mí, personalmente, se me hizo un poco pesado al tercer día. ¡Necesitaba tacos y guacamole!

¡Las habitaciones! ¡Son muy importantes! A ver, son amplias, con vistas preciosas a las viñas (¡te lo juro, me despertaba con esa vista y se me olvidaban todos los problemas!), las camas son cómodas… ¡Pero! (Siempre hay un "pero", ¿verdad?).
No son súper modernas, y el mobiliario tiene un aire… ¿cómo decirlo?… "clásico". Como si estuvieras durmiendo en la casa de campo de la abuela de alguien. No es malo, ¡eh! Es acogedor. Pero no esperes la última tecnología ni un diseño vanguardista. Aceptemos que es un estilo, y uno que es correcto. ¡Y las toallas son suaves y blancas! ¡Eso es importante!
Y el wifi… ¡Ese es el gran drama del siglo XXI! Funciona… a veces. En algunas habitaciones va como un rayo, en otras… es como la conexión de un módem antiguo, ¡lento de narices! Si necesitas estar conectado constantemente, mejor que te compres una tarjeta SIM con datos o te prepares para una dosis de paciencia… ¡Y a desconectar un poco, hombre! ¡Disfruta de las vistas!
¿Qué se puede hacer por la zona? ¿Solo beber vino y mirar viñas?
¡No, hombre, no! ¡No solo beber vino (aunque esa es la actividad principal, no lo vamos a negar)! Denbies está en Surrey Hills, una zona preciosa. ¡Senderismo, paseos en bici, pueblos con encanto…!
Te recomiendo, si te gusta caminar, que te pierdas por los senderos que rodean las viñas. ¡Es espectacular! Y, si tienes suerte, te encuentras con un zorro o un ciervo. ¡Yo no los vi! (¡snif!) Pero lo importante es que te olvides del móvil, respires aire puro, y te relajes.
También puedes visitar algunos de los pueblos cercanos, como Dorking (¡con un mercado muy chulo!) o Guildford… si te gusta el shopping y las tiendas de lujo. Y si te apetece algo más "british", puedes ir a tomar el té con pastas. ¡Eso sí, no te olvides de reservar con antelación!

La cata en sí… ¡es toda una experiencia! Te llevan por las viñas, te cuentan el proceso de elaboración del vino, te enseñan a distinguir los aromas… ¡Y, sobre todo, te dan a probar un montón de vinos diferentes! ¡Un festín para el paladar!
¡Mi momento favorito! El momento en que te dicen: "Ahora, huele, cierra los ojos… ¿qué notas?". ¡Yo siempre me sentía un poco… ignorante! ¡No olía nada! Pero al final… ¡algo intuyes!
